FRESH START YOUTH RESIDENCE recreational activities will be comprised of a wide range of interests with the objective being to expose the child to stimulating, enjoyable, and educational experiences and develop positive pro-social skills.
FRESH START YOUTH RESIDENCES has an operational 'Therapeutic Riding' program which provides our youth an opportunity to participate in horseback riding sessions in a safe, structured environment. FRESH START YOUTH RESIDENCES has established an indoor riding arena in order to promote the continuity of this therapeutic aspect to our program year round. Our youth have the opportunity to participate in the care of the animals in addition to the riding which allows them to develop unconditional relationships and personal responsibility. FRESH START YOUTH RESIDENCES maintaines a certified specialist in equine care who is present at the farm for all youth interactions with the animals.
We are very pleased at the ongoing growth of our Therapeutic Farm program which provides other recreational activities such as mini bikes, which are used exclusivley under the supervision of a director, as well as the home of our annual barbeques and fun day activities. This aspect of our program is unique to FRESH START YOUTH RESIDENCES, and is a valuable tool for assisting the youth in developing their self esteem.
FRESH START YOUTH RESIDENCES is pleased to announce that our Therapeutic Farm program continues to grow and will soon be home to a number of other farm animals for the youth to interact with.
Group activities such as theatre, library, concerts, museum trips, camping trips, sporting events and physical recreation will comprise the majority of Fresh Start’s recreational program.
Fresh Start will encourage that leisure time be utilized to pursue individual hobbies and any community based activities the child may be involved in.
