Whenever possible and where appropriate a strong emphasis will be placed on family involvement during a resident's stay at any of our FRESH START YOUTH RESIDENCES.
The child’s family will be encouraged to visit with the youth at Fresh Start, to participate in recreational activities, to attend appointments and planning meetings with the youth, and will be welcome to be present for meals.
The degree of family involvement will be determined at initial planning conference between the social worker, the operator, and the family if required.
Home visits and regular family sessions will be discussed and arranged at this point if possible and if deemed appropriate.
