FRESH START YOUTH RESIDENCE is a privately owned residential program licensed under the Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services in accordance with the Child and Family Services Act, 1984. We offer services to assist and support children and youth who are experiencing a range and variety of issues; primarily emotional and behavioural difficulties that hinder their well being and growth in their homes and community. We provide children and youth with short and long-term placements during which they participate in individual goal oriented programs. Our program includes homes for Boys and Girls, respectively.
FRESH START YOUTH RESIDENCE provides high levels of supervision, structure and support to youth who have difficulty managing in less intrusive environments, and who require continuous limit setting and intervention strategies. Our youth participate in numerous programs and activities, which are geared to promote pro-social behaviour, self esteem building, and acquisition of basic life skills. Personal development plans are established with each youth so that they may play an active role in his/her development and success, and to encourage personal responsibility and accountability for choices. The residences are designed to provide a home-like environment, where the youth are able to feel safe, secure, nurtured and cared for.
FRESH START YOUTH RESIDENCE promotes the growth and continuity of all family attachments and relationships, We support children and youth being reintegrated into their family homes or making the transition to less intrusive programs, provided that it has been clearly established to be in the best interest of the youth, and to have a viable opportunity for success.
